Mardi Gras &#; Manchester Pride
Manchester Parade is a ‘party as protest.’ We’re a part of the largest LGBTQ+ liberation movement in the planet, celebrating queer people, culture and phrase as loudly and publicly as achievable in a refusal to hide in shame.
Pride has grown exponentially in its 50+ year history as a movement for queer liberation. But the battle is far from over.
With LGBTQ+ youth increasingly experiencing bullying, self-harm and homelessness and the recent rise in anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes, it’s more vital than ever that Manchester Pride celebrations endure strong.
Taking place this Friday 15th – Monday 25th August , the festival is made up of multiple events including the planet famous Manchester Self-acceptance Parade, the Homosexual Village Party, Candlelit Vigil, Youth Identity festival MCR, Family Celebration MCR, Superbia, the Rally, and a brand new event for , Mardi Gras, which will accept over Depot Mayfield and Freight Island Saturday 23rd &#; Sunday 24th August

Manchester Self-acceptance brings thousands of people to the streets of Manchester each year. Manchester Pride is part of a global Pride movement celebrating LGTBQ+ equality and challenging discrimination and the event celebrates queer people, culture and expression as loudly and publicly as possible in a refusal to hide in shame.
Taking place across the August Bank Holiday weekend, Manchester Pride hosts a variety of events, all are free to attend with the exception of Mardi Gras and the Queer Village Party, tickets for which are on sale now.
