Tiffany's Gorgeous New Engagement Sound Ad Features a Real-Life Gay Couple

Tiffany & Co.'s beautiful new ad campaign featuring two men would be awesome on its own, but the jewelry's company's casting judgment makes it even more special: The men aren't professional models — they're an actual gay couple living in New York, though their names haven't been released yet.

Say it with me: Awww.

Last month, the company showed support for gay couples by including one in their holiday window display at their Fifth Avenue flagship store.

In , 55 percent of Americans (and 80 percent of young people) were in favor of lgbtq+ marriage, according to Gallup. But tolerating gay marriage and embracing it are two very different things, so it's thrilling to notice Tiffany's shining a spotlight on the issue.

Gay couples can finally join straight couples in the all-important symbol of true love: the engagement ring Instagram.

By Erika Winters

When Tiffany makes a statement, people follow. And it may be Tiffany&#;s latest &#;Will You?&#; advertisement featuring a gay couple that will push hesitant jewelers to the next level of acceptance&#;and marketing. You can see the upcoming ad campaign here.

Seems appreciate a no-brainer, right? Couples are couples, and jewelers wish to sell wedding rings. So from a purely economic standpoint, it makes no sense to reject any couple seeking betrothal jewels. I wrote about this topic on my personal blog back in June , when the Supreme Court create a key part of the Defense of Marriage Execute (the U.S. federal law that denied the right to liberty and equivalent protection to gay couples) unconstitutional.

I wrote:

If you’re a retailer and you do not accept same-sex marriage, you’re missing out on a growing population of bridal customers. You’re also increasingly at odds with the values of a consumer found that wants your services. If

The press emit also lauded the company&#;s promise to inclusivity.

&#;The Charles Tiffany Setting honors the jeweler’s long-standing legacy in love and inclusivity, paving the way for new traditions to celebrate our unique adore stories and honor our most cherished commitments to one another.&#;

Engagement Rings for Men: Where&#;s Tiffany&#;s Pride?

May 20, 21 by John Jeffay

Tiffany & Co. was out and pleased in January when it unveiled its first ever ad featuring a homosexual couple. My predecessor Danielle Max devoted a whole Memo to its headline-grabbing break with tradition.

"Kudos to Tiffany & Co. for its latest ad campaign, which features a range of "modern" couples on the path to matrimony," she wrote. "Among them is a same-sex couple who in Peter Lindbergh&#;s photograph look as ideal as the steps of the New York brownstone on which they are sitting."

So I was a little surprised when the same jeweler unveiled its first ever range of engagement rings for men.  And seemed to tone down, or almost overlook, the whole LGBT communication. I scoured the compress release Tiffany issued at the end of last month for mention of same-sex marriage.

"This spring, Tiffany & Co. debuts The Charles Tiffany Setting, its first men&#;s engagement dial featuring a bold solitaire diamond," reads its introduction.

"Named after founder Charles Lewis . . .
