The truth is, planning a vacation to LGBT gay travel destinations might take a little more thought. We don&#;t necessarily need to go somewhere we will get uncomfortable stares or own to field ignorant questions. Thankfully these instances are less shared than a decade ago, but they are still factors when deciding upon LGBT Family tour ideas.
When the girls were brief, we began traveling the earth with them. Their first trip abroad was to England and France when they were just five and seven years ancient. It was a grand adventure for us all, and we also observed more than a few side-eye glances. It&#;s marvelous that now we would never experience that in most places. But still, some destinations are just more comfortable for us than others.
We all know queer travel doesn’t mean we contain to be exclusively with other gay people, but sometimes we just want to know we won’t be the only ones. As you're planning your winter travel and scrolling through options, you might want to check on the LGBTQ-friendliness of any given country you're considering.
As NBC Out reported last month, the Williams Institute published its latest Global Acceptance Index (GAI) last month. Crunching survey numbers from countries, the UCLA School of Law think tank's researchers scored countries based on common beliefs and policies regarding lesbian, same-sex attracted, bisexual, transgender and queer people. They published those findings, along with the latest GAI, in their November report.
Of the countries analyzed:
- experienced increases in acceptance since
- 16 experienced a decline
- and 27 had no change in attitude
While some of the top countries on the list are more than nice to visit during winter — appreciate list-topper Iceland, which is on Oprah Magazine's list of best winter destinations — we compiled both countries that scored highest in the GAI and those who scored high and brag warm temperatures during the American winter.
