Shawn Pyfrom

Best known to television audiences as Marcia Cross' scheming, possibly gay son Andrew on the hit TV series "Desperate Housewives" (ABC, ), Shawn Pyfrom was already a veteran performer with numerous film and TV credits to his name - despite still being in his teens.

Born Aug. 16, in Tampa, FL, Pyfrom was introduced to acting at age four by his parents. He soon landed his first performing jobs in one of the Walt Disney Company's "Sing Me a Story" interactive direct-to-video features, followed by a role on the syndicated children's series, "The Reppies" (Trinity Broadcasting Network, ). Guest appearances on numerous network series soon followed, including "The Drew Carey Show" (ABC, ), "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (WB, ), and the HBO miniseries "From the Land to the Moon" (). Pyfrom also appeared as two adequately known TV stars in tiny screen biopics; first as a young Michael Landon in "Michael Landon, the Father I Knew" (), followed by a fresh Danny Bonaduce in "Come On, Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story" ().

"Housewives" Star Desperately Uncomfortable

Shawn Pyfrom plays Marcia Cross' queer son on "Desperate Housewives," but the hetero hunk wasn't having a male lover ol' time on Sunday at The Trevor Project's Cracked Xmas event, which benefits gay and questioning teens.

Pyfrom, who introduced a musical performance by Lucy Lawless, received endless cheers and catcalls from the predominantly gay audience, which made the year-old performer visibly uncomfortable.

Other celebs in attendance included newly out and proud stars Neil Patrick Harris and "Grey's Anatomy's" doc, T.R. Knight. Roseanne Barr received a Lifetime Achievment Award for her work in endorse of gay rights, and had a message for all youth who might be questioning their sexual orientation: "Stop worrying about yourselves for being same-sex attracted and start worrying for me because I'm oldand fat!"

For eight years, Shawn Pyfrom played the homosexual character of Andrew Van de Kamp on the ABC hit Desperate Housewives.

Shawn Pyfrom hasbravely opened up about his addiction issues in an accessible letter on his Tumblr blog.

The year-old actor, foremost known for playing Bree Van de Kamp's lgbtq+ son Andrew on Desperate Housewives, shared his story with fans on Sunday, Feb. 2, just hours after Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York Town apartment. "Against the counsel of others; I had to write this expose letter. I can't reside quiet anymore about thisI am an alcoholic and a drug addict," Pyfrom wrote.

"And yesterday I famous five months of sobriety. I'm relatively new to being sober, considering the scope of time that I've been an addict.
